Re: UT fans what happened to Bryce Brown?
Thanks for giving a shining example of what I observed in your responses in this thread. Bravo. To quote Sgt. Hulka, "Lighten up, Francis".
Locking the thread was a fargin joke just clowning on you, but you obviously overlooked that.
And whether he's won whatever award from whatever group, Hubbs still has those UT glasses on. He's gonna see the best in Bryce, and that's what he's gonna report--none of the negative, because you and I know he'd lose what access they let him have currently if he did. It's fine to question stuff/be critical, as long as you don't out someone completely and play the game and ultimately make the team look good. How many subscribers would he lose if he told the truth all the time? Rivals would can him quicker than his head would spin b/c that's what they're in it for--subscribers. Don't be naiive just because this cat covers the team you root for.
Due to all of that, I'll take the word of people who've met Bryce face-to-face in several non-football situations over Hubbs'. Keep in mind, a lot of these things were said when he was an actual Miami verbal, not after he "spurned" us for UT. It's not a revenge thing. If you're arrogant, I'm gonna call you arrogant, plain & simple. If you act like a primadona when we hang out, I'm gonna think of you as a primadona until you prove otherwise. That's what I'm applying to Bryce in this situation.

Sarcasm doesn't translate well sometimes. I just didn't and still don't know why you're making it personal and banging on me like a douche, when I'm basically arguing the same thing you are, just a different slant. I'm taking the word of people who are enrolled at UT and have classes with Brown, people who have been out in public with Brown, what coaches from both staff's have said about him, and what the writers at the KNS, Volquest, and the AP have said about the guy since he's been there. It doesn't make me right, and you're not either. Neither one of us know jack**** about what the truth is, maybe it's your version, maybe it's mine, maybe it's somewhere in the middle, or something completely different than any of that. All I said was everything I've seen written about or heard 2nd/3rd/4th hand is that he's a good, quiet kid, who his team mates like, and there's not been anything bad said about him since he enrolled.

Wrong again. When Vinson was in trouble 2 years ago, when Rogan was in trouble with academics basically since he showed up, when Kiffin was as some people thought "dragging his feet" on the whole Nukese/Edwards/Jackson fiasco last season, and several other instances (I can site more (Morley) if you want me to continue, but these are 3 for example) Hubbs ragged on the individuals, staffs, and UT each time. He came out 2 years ago and said that Vinson was not a good guy and he though would not finish his time at UT on his own terms. He banged on Fulmer, Kiffin, and UT for letting him stay at UT. Basically the same with Rogan, he said that the kid had had enough chances and wasnt taking advatage of the chance he had and they should cut him lose. On the last situation, he said that Kiffin needed to make a move and was waiting too long to make a statement and it was making the university look bad.
Seeing those 3 situations in the last year with kids still enrolled, coaching staffs present, I don't think he would have cared to say that Brown seemed to be a glory hound, a prima dona, and that he wanted to be guaranteed a starting job.
That's the reason that I keep paying for that site for over 5 years. 95% of the time when that guy says something about recruiting, players, coaches it's dead on. He's honest (up till this point), and I don't get sunshine pumped up my ass. I just want to get as close to the truth as I can.

I agree with this, Hubbs has been dead on with just about everything he has written or posted in the General's Quarters. He doesn't play nice all the time either, as a matter of fact there have been some articles I have read and thought to myself does this guy even like UT.

It was all an act to cover up that Brice Brown is a ****.
Re: UT fans what happened to Bryce Brown?
What I feel is an even bigger blow to the program than Bryce Brown leaving is today Coach Dooley announced that Aaron Douglas is leaving the program. OL is something we can't afford to lose, especially a Freshman All American who had a bright, bright future. What was his deal anyway Lung, it has been rumored for months
Re: UT fans what happened to Bryce Brown?
Supposedly, drug problem. The rumor flying around this evening was that he was addicted to pain pills from an injury.

I think CC's sarcasm and 'jokes' go too far...

I knew rumors were flying around like crazy..... He had personal problems, he had family problems, he didn't like new staff, he was hurt, etc, etc, etc. The main ones I kept reading were personal problems and what you explained above makes sense.
Re: UT fans what happened to Bryce Brown?
I was just about to ask you UT guys about that.
I was told he became addicted to pain medicine after an injury, and that he is leaving to go into a rehab facility.
If that is the case, what are the chances he comes back to UT before the seaon starts?

He's a good guy. I've liked him and still do. I just don't understand why he had to get personal and snippy when I was just doing the same thing he was, he was banging on probably some 20 year old slacker from Maryville's opinion on Brown, while I was probably banging on some douche bag from Little Haiti's opinion on Brown. I didn't think that there was any chance what so ever that I would change his mind and I wasn't trying to.
